Red AECID

As part of the Directorate of Cultural and Scientific Relations, AECID’s Centres develop cultural and scientific cooperation policy, strengthen cultural action as a factor for development, and support cultural promotion and action abroad.

The AECID Network of Cultural Centres comprises thirteen Cultural Centres constituted as Cooperation Units Abroad, together with six Associate Centres with local participation, which enhance the Network’s diversity and footprint.

The Centres are present in 16 countries (15 Latin American countries plus Equatorial Guinea), and receive an average of one million visitors per year. In its different Centres, the Network makes available to users, both institutional and private, workshop-classrooms, auditoriums, exhibition halls, libraries, resource centres, media labs, etc. They also carry out many cultural programmes in collaboration with local institutions and foster exchanges and cooperation, contributing to the creation of the Ibero-American Cultural Space and the promotion of Spanish culture.
