BIOGRAPHY.The Canary Isles sculptor Paco Palomino initiated his career during the 80s and 90s with some sculptural series such as Hemisferios or Colócate where he experimented with the spatial diversity, the styles and the volumes solidity.

In 1993 he began to create a group of more visual sculptures. These new images resemble three dimensional contemporary icons, very closed to the Cubism avant-garde movement, where derive a variety of figurative lines. As it can be appreciated, Palomino joins together two traditions: the first one focuses in the line and the drawing, and the second in the volume and the mass.

As a result, Palomino uses as leit-motif the spiral. He is very close to other contemporary works such as Robert Smithson's famous Spiral Jetty in the lake of Utah or to Richard Long's ephemeral landscapes.

"VORTEX VORTICE. M ayaimi: acrylic on foam".The peculiarity of the CCE exhibition is that it shows a new facet of the Canary artist. While he is usually associated with the use of big materials, in this occasion he presents a more pictorial exhibition. This is how we can appreciate a new way of expression of his creative spirit. The name of the exhibition - "Vortex" - is the same one given to the sculpture that will be raised in the new bridge of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. This exhibition is made up of 28 works grouped in three series : 1) V ortex vórtice:  a series that combines digital prints, photographs and drawings; 2) Mayaimi : 8 acrylics on foam; 3) 10 Urban sculptures plotters.Once again the show is an example of the importance that Paco Palomino gives to the materials he uses in his Works. As he says: "Integrating the materials as a way of expression in the artistic language is something that gives unsuspected satisfactions .Photographies available.
