Lorca y los Preteridos", a lecture
by Alexis Ortiz.
Garcia Lorca was, not only one of the most
outstanding poets of the Generation of '27 in Spain, but also he was a
brilliant spokesperson about battered, misunderstood themes and sectors:
The gypsies; women in handicapped conditions; "cante
hondo" (Deep song); African-Americans before
the equality of civil rights; theater; homosexuality, etc.
Alexis Ortiz (Venezuela) is a writer and a journalist. He has written
several film scripts, 8 books and he has more than twenty works about
cultural and historic themes. Ortiz is a politic analyst and he's
collaborated in important publications in Florida, he is also a member of the
group of counselors of Hispanic journalism in Saint Tomas University.
