Paco Soto was born in Águilas (Murcia), and was raised in Tangier (Morocco).  His mother says that he learned to sing before he learned to speak, even though he had to wait till he was 9 years old to discover that his instrument was not his voice, but the guitar.  Between the songs in the mosques and the wind in the straight of Gibraltar, he began his singular relationship with music.  Music that smells of a fusion of flamenco, mint tea, two cultures, and two oceans.

He published his first record “VIDA” (Life) in February 2017.  It was a fresh record, composed entirely by Paco, with the cooperation of maestros like Jorge Pardo or el Guadiana, and other young promises like Sandra Carrasco. In September 2019, he publishes his new record, “DOS MARES” (Two Oceans).

He has been awarded the Alcobendas Award for Young Talents, as the best guitar player in 2018, and the AIE award for Flamenco Route in 2018.

During his career, he has collaborated with flamenco and jazz artists such as José Soto Sorderita, Duquende, Montse Cortés, Jorge Pardo, Josemi Carmona, Antonio Canales, Javier Colina, Chano Dominguez, Guadiana, and more.

He has participated in institutions like “City of Light”, the New York Cervantes Institute, or Columbia University, where he participated and taught flamenco classes, as well as about the relationship of Federico García Lorca with flamenco.  He was recently hired by the “Playing for Change” platform, as the guitar player representing Spain, to make worldwide videos with artists like Gorillaz, Jack Johnson, or U2.

He has worked for companies like the Clara Ramona Chinese Tour 2015/16, with which he travelled through many cities of the Asian giant, or with Sonia Olla and Ismael Fernández through the U.S.A.  He is presently guitar player and musical director of the Spanish Flamenco Ballet, with which he has toured China, Italy, Switzerland, and America.  He has also composed music for the “Flamenco Live” show.

He has worked in flamenco stages like Casapatas, Las Carboneras, Corral de la Morería or Cardamomo (Madrid), La Venta del Gallo, Los Jardines de Zoraya, Le Chien Andalou, (Granada), Alma de Flamenco (Fukuoka and Osaka), Alegrías la National (New York), or Jaleo y Peña Al Andalus (Belgium).
