It is true that El Quijote was born from Cervantes’ imagination but it is also very important
the job of the people who made the book, printers, typographers and designers. The written
word hadn’t changed in 400 years but the book as an object did. All the history of printing
techniques, editorial and typographic design, the graphic arts and design rides on the back
of El Quijote.
Fifty Spanish designers get together to reinvent the character of Quixote, to imagine other
identities and to dream about other Quixotes. Past Quixotes, Quixotes of our times and
future ones. The posters of this exhibition are a reflex of maturity, creativity and richness
of the designer’s career. Alberto Corazón, Emilio Gil, Enric Satué, Isidro Ferrer, Manuel
Estrada, Óscar Mariné, Pep Carrió or Sonia Sánchez are some of the remarkable designers
that present their works in this exhibition. |
